Here's another entry in the category of 'Weird 1940s Funny Animal Comics'.  There were a plethora of these at the dawn of humor comics (Ha Ha, Giggle, Goofy, Barnyard, etc.) and it's fairly obvious they were all trying out the slapstickiest talking animal stories they could come up with, in the hopes that one or more would become popular enough to sustain their own title.

Actually, one of the characters in this issue did go on to have his own title, but not really on to lasting fame!

You do get Wilbur Coon, Bunnyboy, Little Billy Bear, Francois the Feline  . . . but the star of this issue is the second appearance of Stanley the Talking Horse, by Disney animation great Jack Bradbury - the verbal equine who went on to co-star in 'SPUNKY, Junior Cowboy and STANLEY, the Talking Horse'!!

You get terrific artwork from Hollywood animators like Jim Tyer, Al Hubbard, Owen Fitzgerald, and Dan Gordon - who also did the cover. 

This copy is pretty nice - the cover is clean and the binding is strong on this 52-page comic, with typical 74-year-old toning.  There is a small piece missing from the bottom left of the front cover, and a few ragged page edges.  We conservatively grade it a 5.0 VG/FN.  Overstreet thinks you should pay $33 for this issue . . . but we think you'd rather pay just a fraction of that = $14 -- plus our L•O•W shipping fee -- and FREE SHIPPING for any additional purchases!!
