Here's another entry in the huge category of 'Weird 1940s Funny Animal Comics'. There were a plethora of these at the dawn of humor comics (Ha Ha, Giggle, Goofy, Barnyard, etc.) and it's fairly obvious they were all trying out the slapstickiest talking animal stories they could come up with, in the hopes that one or more would become popular enough to sustain their own title.

Sadly, none of the characters in this 60-page issue ever went on to lasting fame!

You do get Roger Rabbit (not the DISNEY one!), Johnny Sparrow, Hetty Hep-Cat, Beezy & Fleazy, Art Fox & Sammy Setter, Detective Dan & Botzo, and Doc Bernard! Most of the artists here were members of the New York City animation community, and include Milt Stein, Irving Dressler, Gordon Sheehan and Terrytoons' famous Jim Tyer.

It's the only copy of HAPPY COMICS #2 here on HipComic!

This copy is really nice - the cover is clean and glossy and the binding is fairly strong foirv a one-staple comic, with typical 81-year old toning. The pages are supple and clean with minimal wear. We conservatively grade it a 6.0 FN.
