Simon Baz, a young street-racer from Dearborn, Michigan, becomes the possessor of a Power Ring as a result of a struggle between Hal Jordan and Sinestro, and he goes on to join the Justice League and play an important role in the "Rise of the Third Army", "Trinity War" and "Lights Out" mini-series.

He also becomes half of a GL dual-force with Jessica Cruz - Earth's first female Green Lantern.

Simon Baz was created by Geoff Johns, also an Arab-American from Dearborn, and he has signed the cover of this copy! This first-appearance issue was drawn by Doug Mahnke. There are two 'New 52' checklists included, a Green Lantern page in the 'Who's Who' ongoing feature, and a double page spread promo for 4 different GREEN LANTERN mini-series!
