Item Description
The Original Golden Age GREEN LANTERN, Allan Scott, makes an appearance here alongside the Silver Age GL, Hal Jordan, in a John Broome story beautifully and dynamically illustrated by the incredible Gil Kane and inked with the gorgeously precise lines of Sid Greene! In "Prince Peril's Power Play" , a Princess from a distant planet travels to Earth to find a perfect husband so that she doesn't have to marry the aggressive Prince Peril of her own kingdom. She first meets Doiby Dickles - Allan Scott's 'sidekick' - and he takes her to Allan. But Prince Peril soon finds them and defeats Allan Scott in a battle over the Princess. Doiby is able to help the Princess escape and jump dimensions to Earth One, where they enlist the aid of Hal Jordan.
Prince Peril proceeds to get the better of Hal when the Power Ring runs out of juice, and the nasty prince takes Doiby and the Princess back to their home planet . . . followed closely by BOTH Green Lanterns. The final battle to save the honor of the Princess is won against Prince Peril and his army, and the Princess chooses to wed . . . ah, that would be telling!
Gil Kane even draws himself into the story!
This is a great-looking 56-year old Silver Age GREEN LANTERN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, the colors are bright . . and the only fault we see is a lightly pencilled '75¢' at the top of the back cover. We grade this a 7.5 VF- . . . which Overstreet values at $80 . . . but we're pricing it at $35. . with our always-L•O•W shipping!
