The Original Golden Age GREEN LANTERN, Allan Scott, makes his first appearance in GREEN LANTERN Volume 2 alongside the Silver Age GL, Hal Jordan. In a John Broome story beautifully and dynamically illustrated by the incredible Gil Kane and inked with the gorgeously precise lines of Sid Greene, we see the first seeds sown in what will eventually become THE CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS!

In "Secret Origin of The Guardians" , Broome tackles the complexities of time travel and multiple universes, and the nefarious machinations of the evil KRONA, decades before CRISIS ON INFINTE EARTHS was conceived! It starts on Earth-2 with Allan Scott's premonition that Earth-1 is in danger from a strange meteor . . continues with the pairing of Allan and Hal against KRONA . . and ends with the two ring-bearers aided by the mysterious Guardians in defeating KRONA and returning him to his imprisonment in the energy meteor that set everything in motion!. Quite a bit of avant-garde plotting for a 1965 comic!

This is a nice-looking 56-year old Silver Age GREEN LANTERN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, the colors are bright . . and the only fault we see is a lightly pencilled '65' on the front cover, moderately-worn edges, and a bit of discoloration on the cover We very conservatively grade this a 5.0 VG/FN . . . which Overstreet values at $110 . . . but we're pricing it at $78. . with our always-L•O•W shipping!
