In "Mystery of the Deserted City!" , by Fox and Kane, the town of Pioneer Bluffs is cordoned off during their annual Pioneer Days, and GREEN LANTERN goes to investigate. Finding the town deserted, he realizes the entire population of the town has been shifted partially out of their dimension. Restoring them to normal, he finds a crook who has been using a dimension shifting device in order to commit crimes.

Chasing after the crook through various dimensions and battling that different threats each one poses, GREEN LANTERN finally catches up to the crook and turns him over to the police, and rewards himself by staying for the resumed Pioneer Day celebrations!

In the back-up feature, "The Amazing Transformation of Horace Tolliver!",  Broome tells of how GREEN LANTERN once subconsciously gave a timid bank teller who was pushed around by everyone -- super powers.  Horace, the teller, used these powers to show some spine and give his tormentors their comeuppance, however he realized that now he could take whatever he wanted. GREEN LANTERN tries to set things right, but Horace knocks him out before eventually being stopped and repentant for his actions!
