Does the name 'Bito Wladon' ring a bell? No? - How about his villain moniker - SONAR? Yes, the brilliant sound engineer who turned nuclear sound waves into a weapon against GREEN LANTERN, and became the despotic ruler of MODORA!

This was SONAR's second appearance in GREEN LANTERN after his debut 5 issues earlier.

"The Defeat of Green Lantern" also includes appearances by Tomar-Re and Tom Kalmaku as GL tries to prevent SONAR from invading and enslaving a neighboring country to Modora. The issue's second story, "The Trail of the Horse and Buggy Bandits" features more terrific Gil Kane artwork!

This copy of GL #19 is typical of those from this era - a read and enjoyed issue that was pretty well cared for. Toning common to a 57-year old comic book. We conservatively grade it a 3.5 VG- with two small pieces of tape on the spine. It still looks terrific, though, and nothing affects the stellar artwork ! Overstreet lists it for $26 in this grade . . . but we're gonna list it for just $14 - the most affordable copy here on HipComic - with L•O•W shipping!
