Jim Davis - the talent behind The Fox and the Crow comics - being uncommonly adept at depicting the conflicts between talking animals - created the Canary / Cat / Dog trio of combatants "FLIPPITY AND FLOP" in 1950. FLIPPITY is the clever canary, FLOP is the conniving cat, and SAM is the dim-witted dog, who missed out on star-billing in the title!

Issue #9, from Spring 1953, is a perfect example of these three in their never-ending skirmishes. Jim Davis illustrates 3 FLIPPITY and FLOP stories, plus a tale of the two goofy mice, 'TWIDDLE and TWADDLE'.

This 70-year-old DC comic is in FN condition -- the binding is tight and flat and there are no tears or pieces missing. Normal toning but no foxing. There is a barely noticeable bit of abrasion (erasure?) on the cover, , a 1/2" tear in the back cover, and a few minor stress lines. We'll call it a 5.0 VG/FN.

Overstreet says $35 for this grade --- but we say only $22, which makes it the nicest and ONLY FLIPPITY AND FLOP #9 here on HipComic!
