Jim Davis - the talent behind DC's Fox and the Crow comics - being uncommonly adept at depicting the conflicts between talking animals, created the Canary / Cat / Dog trio of combatants "FLIPPITY AND FLOP" in 1950. FLIPPITY is the clever canary, FLOP is the conniving cat, and SAM is the dim-witted dog, who missed out on star-billing in the title!

Issue #12, from Fall 1953, is a perfect example of these three in their never-ending skirmishes. Jim Davis illustrates four FLIPPITY and FLOP stories, plus a tale of the two goofy mice, 'TWIDDLE and TWADDLE'.

Additionally, there are three text/cartoon/educational pages by Martin Naydel, Golden Age comic artist and the creator of the daily newspaper puzzle "JUMBLE"!

This 70-year-old DC comic is in FN condition -- the binding is tight and flat and there are no tears or pieces missing. Normal toning but no foxing. There is, though, a bit of discoloration at the bottom left of the cover, and a faint possible subscription fold that carries throughout the comic, but has been largely flattened over the years! We'll call it a 5.0 VG/FN.

Overstreet says $27 for this grade --- but we say only $16, which makes it the nicest and most affordable FLIPPITY AND FLOP #12 here on HipComic!
