The contents were taken from folklore and fairy tales and were drawn by such talents as Walt Kelly, Arthur Jameson and Casper Enerson. Kelly's covers in particular have a feel from the Age of the Illustrators (around the turn of the century) that gave us Arthur Rackham, Maxfield Parrish, Edmund Dulac, and their peers.

With his cover and 28 pages of charming and lively retellings of familiar fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and folk tales, the legendary WALT KELLY's art makes this a sought-after early pre-POGO collectible!

KELLY illustrates stories of 'The Lost Prince' and 'The Traveling Musicians' and contributes two of his trademark 'border art" pieces! Also present are Arthur Jameson and 'The White Cat', and L.Bing with 'Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp'. And check out that amazing back cover!!

This is a beautiful copy. The binding looks brand new, there is actually a shine/gloss to the covers, and no blemishes that affect the artwork in any way. Amazingly little toning! An 8.0 VF in our conservative estimate for a comic of this vintage!
