Considered a 'cult classic' by Kirby fans, DEVIL DINOSAUR was an enormous, crimson colored Tyrannosaurus-like theropod dinosaur. Here he is in his second-through-fourth appearances, from the nine-issue run (each issue scripted and pencilled by Kirby), along with his inseparable ape-like friend, MOON-BOY, whom Kirby considered the First Human!

In the Valley of the Flame, MOON-BOY recalls how he met DEVIL DINOSAUR, whose mother and siblings had perished at the hands of the Killer-Folk . They had used their torches to turn DEVIL DINOSAUR's skin-color from green to red. A volcano erupted and sent them fleeing and MOON-BOY lead DEVIL-DINOSAUR to a stream where the pain from his wounds subsided.

They became close, and MOON-BOY brought his new 'brother' to his people, the Small-Folk. The Small-Folk were frightened of DEVIL DINOSAUR, however, and fled at the sight of him, leaving the pair of friends alone against the world. MOON-BOY was unaware that the Killer-Folk were plotting to rid the Valley of the red dinosaur by constructing a large staked pit and setting fire to the entire valley to drive DEVIL DINOSAUR into it!

In "Devil's War!", after nearly falling for the trap set by the Killer-Folk, DEVIL DINOSAUR avoids this horrible fate, but is soon buried under a mountain of rubble by the Killer-Folk. MOON-BOY is captured and taken to the cave of the Giant Spiders as a sacrifice . . and it's left to DEVIL DINOSAUR to eventually free himself and save his young friend!

Then, in "Giant!" in #3, the two friends come across an immense humanoid from a race of giants, who tries to battle DEVIL DINOSAUR to the death, but is lured into a bog and nearly dies - however, MOON-BOY finds his offspring and the foes call a truce.

Issue #4's "Object From The Sky!" veers into Science Fiction territory as an alien craft crash lands in the Valley and the unearthly visitors cause mayhem before taking MOON-BOY and DEVIL DINOSAUR prisoners!

These are three handsome copies of this 44-year old title, with a strong bindings, supple pages, glossy covers and no apparent defects or blemishes.
