DELL Comics was already a powerhouse in the comics industry when, in 1949, they began to publish GIANT comics with 100 pages of story, and cardstock covers with a square binding. Even at the increased cover price of 25¢ they were very profitable, and continued (with a gradually diminishing page count) until Fall of 1961, ending with Dell Giant #55.

Here is issue #44 from earlier in that final year, with popular licensed characters from Hanna-Barbera Studios appearing in AROUND THE WORLD WITH HUCKLEBERRY AND HIS FRIENDS.  The entire well-known gang is here - Huck, Yogi & Boo Boo, Quick Draw McGraw & Baba Looey, Snagglepuss, Mr. Jinx, Pixie & Dixie, Snooper & Blabber, Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy - all the great characters that kept us entertained every Saturday morning!
  They visit 12 different foreign countries with stories of adventure and humor . . and there are 9 activity pages for kids (2 of which have been neatly worked on).

This is a very nice copy of DELL GIANT #44 with its strong binding, glossy covers and supple pages. It has bright colors and no foxing! There are several minor stress lines, dimples and rough edges.  Overstreet values this issue, in this grade of 6.0 FN, at $31.
