Item Description

A spin-off character that was first seen in UNCANNY X-MEN, DAZZLER (Alison Blaire) is a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams. DAZZLER was originally developed as a cross-promotional, multi-media creation between Casablanca Records and Marvel Comics until the tie-ins were dropped in 1980. The character was created by a committee of Marvel staff, principally writer/editor Tom DeFalco and illustrator John Romita Jr.

Despite the fact that DAZZLER was commissioned as a disco singer, the character shifted to other musical genres, including rock and adult contemporary, and even Country-Western, as seen in this issue! Her talents were unlimited!

Here she is in issue #6 of her own title, which lasted for 42 issues in the early 1980s.

In "The Hulk May Be Hazardous to Your Health!", the HULK crashes a country-and-western gig DAZZLER is performing at. And in other earth-shaking developments, DAZZLER starts dating Dr. Paul Janson!!!

This is a solid 41-year old copy with no faults or blemishes that we can see - just an overall 'tiredness' from repeated enjoyment created by the attempt to relive those glorious days of Disco! We'll grade it a 6.0 FN . . for which Overstreet suggests a price of $4.00. So where do all those other outrageous prices here on HipComic for this issue come from??
