CREEPY was an American horror-comics magazine launched by Warren Publishing in 1964. Like MAD, it was a black-and-white newsstand publication in a magazine format and did not carry the seal of the Comics Code Authority. An anthology magazine, it initially was published quarterly but later went bimonthly. Each issue's stories were introduced by the host character, Uncle Creepy. •• As if you didn't know all that!

Here's issue #9 from the early Summer of 1966. Inside the painted cover by Frank Frazetta, a Hall of Fame line-up of black-and-white horror artists are represented: Reed Crandall, Johnny Craig, Roy Krenkel, Alex Toth, Wally Wood, Berni Wrightson and more!

Seven outstanding stories fill its 68 pages, with titles like "Dark Kingdom", "The Coffin of Dracula", and Steve Ditko's "Spirit of the Thing!".

So much entertainment and artistry in one place!! Even the ads for other Warren publications and monster memorabilia are a gas to see!

This copy is in good shape, with a solid binding and no tears, creases or pieces missing. There are a couple stress lines on the front cover and mild toning, but nothing that affects the great artwork! We very conservatively grade this at 6.0 FN. As such, Overstreet lists a value of $21 . . . but we're offering it at $16 . . with our always-LOW shipping . . and FREE shipping when you combine additional purchases!
