By 1974, Marvel's CONAN THE BARBARIAN was approaching the early stages of its own 'Middle Age' in its 20-year run, memorably pairing the talents of Roy Thomas and his original scripts, and the power of John Buscema's art.

These three issues feature CONAN - and John Buscema - at their prime, battling misshapen monsters, gargoyles, and a malevolent tree! As was CONAN's habit, in these three issues he not only battles mightily against eldritch threats, but manages to save beautiful women at the same time!

In issue #43, one of those women is 'The She-Devil with a Sword' - none other than RED SONJA (even a She-Devil needs saving, occasionally!)

Though all 3 issues are masterfully pencilled by the great John Buscema, the inking in #41 and 42 is credited to 'The Crusty Bunkers', the 'inking workshop led by another legend of the comics -- Neal Adams! #43 features the inking of one of Buscema's favorite finishers - Ernie Chan. All three issues have covers pencilled by the renowned Gil Kane!
