50 years ago last Fall, Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith crafted a comic that is still hailed as one of the best series ever -- Marvel's CONAN the BARBARIAN. It sprang up on newsstand shelves as something entirely different from all the tights and capes next to it, and acclaim and enthusiasm built like an avalanche! Robert E. Howard had created CONAN in the 1930s, and there had even been a Mexican CONAN comic book in the 1950s, but it took Marvel, Thomas and Windsor-Smith to create a true sensation!

CONAN THE BARBARIAN #11 is set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age and gives us "Rogues in the House" - adapted by Roy Thomas from one of Robert E. Howard's best-known tales.

Conan sits in chains in a Corinthian jail. and a local lord to him with an offer of freedom if he kills Nabonidus, the secret head of the city, as the lord is concernedd with the Red Priest's pillaging ways. Conan is able to defeat and slay the Ape-Beastescapes on his own, seeking vengeance and turning his sights on Nabonidus.

Conan sneaks onto the priest's grounds and discovers the priest , laid low by the brutish ape-monster, THAK, who has taken the priest's place on the city-state's throne! Conan is able to eventually defeat and slay the giant Ape-Beast, and leaves Corinth behind!

This nearly 50 year-old copy of CONAN THE BARBARIAN #11 - a 52- page Giant - is in exceptionally nice condition - no stress lines, bent corners or toning - the cover still has its gloss and the pages are near-white with bright colors.
