The MIGHTY MIDGET titles, of which there were only 18, were published in 1942 and 1943 spotlighting various Fawcett characters. They measured only 4" x 5" and were probably a nod to the wartime paper conservation endeavors in place at the time.

This little 36-page comic carried two BIG adventures of CAPTAIN MARVEL : "Captain Marvel and the Bumble-Brained Bridegroom", which originally appeared in America's Greatest Comics #4 (1941), and "Captain Marvel and the Alaskan Adventure", reprinted from Captain Marvel Adventures #14 (1942).

The book largely just reproduces artist C.C. Beck's original black and white illustrations, and added red spot coloring on 12 of the interior pages.

Grading this little gem is a bit difficult because it is in excellent shape, with nicely substantial pulp-like pages, no tears, nearly no toning . . BUT the cover has become detached from the one staple used to hold all 36 pages together. That one staple is holding all the interior pages in place, though. So is it a 3.0 GD/VG because the cover is detached, or is it a 7.0 FN/VF because everything else is in such terrific shape?? That would average out to a 5.0 VG/FN, which Overstreet pegs at $40 . . . but because of the cover problem we'll drop the price to $32!
