THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD began publication in August-September of 1955. Originally an adventure series featuring several non-related vignettes per issue, the title eventually evolved into a team-up book, with BATMAN sharing the spotlight feature throughout most of its run.

Here in issue #84 from June/July of 1969, inside the cover by Neal Adams, is the story "The Angel, the Rock and the Cowl!" written by Bob Haney and illustrated by the great Neal Adams. It's an odd time-traveling crossover story with the Earth One versions of BATMAN and SGT. ROCK, largely taking place during World War II in France.

The two briefly tangle, then team up to take down a Nazi officer and his thugs who are using French wine to smuggle arms parts! (?).

Don't think too much about the story - just enjoy the incredible artistry of Neal Adams, aided on several pages by the legendary Joe Kubert - SGT. ROCK's best-known illustrator!

This 55-year-old copy of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #84 (the title's last 12¢ issue!) is in 7.0 FN/VF condition - there is a bit of scuffing on the front cover near the spine, but the binding is strong, and there are no tears, creases, pieces missing, or rough edges. Nothing mars the great Neal Adams interior art!
