THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD began publication in August-September of 1955. Originally an adventure series featuring several non-related vignettes per issue, the title eventually evolved into a team-up book, with BATMAN sharing the spotlight feature throughout most of its run.

Here in issue #83 from April/May of 1969, inside the cover by Irv Novick, is the story "Punish Not My Evil Son!" written by Bob Haney and illustrated by the great Neal Adams. Due to a promise Bruce Wayne's father had made to a friend, to take care of the friend's child, Lance Bruner arrives in the life of Bruce as his new ward.

Dick Grayson and the rest of the TEEN TITANS (KID FLASH, WONDER GIRL, SPEEDY) in their civilian identities try to help Lance mend his delinquent ways, but Lance resists and causes more trouble. When he finds out that Bruce and Dick are really BATMAN and ROBLIN, Lance believes he can cash in on this knowledge by blackmailing them.  It doesn't end happily.

This 55-year-old copy of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #83 is in 8.0 VF condition - the spine is strong, but with a tiny cover split at the top staple. There are no tears, creases, pieces missing, or rough edges. Nothing mars the great Neal Adams interior art!
