THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD began publication in August-September of 1955.  Originally an adventure series featuring several non-related vignettes per issue, the title eventually evolved into a team-up book, with BATMAN sharing the spotlight feature throughout most of its run.

Here in issue #81 from December of 1968, inside the dynamic cover by Neal Adams, is the story "But BORK Can Hurt You!" written by Bob Haney and illustrated by the great Neal Adams.  When a mercenary for hire named BORK arrives in Gotham City and realizes that he's mysteriously invulnerable, he begins a campaign to take over the city, even besting BATMAN in combat. While BATMAN is trying to stop BORK and his followers, BATMAN sends the FLASH on a quest to find the source of BORK's power.

FLASH finds it in a wooden statue carved into BORK's likeness, however it appears to be equally invulnerable. Running it straight through the sun however destroys it. With the source of BORK's power destroyed, BATMAN is able to defeat him in single combat, and the formerly-invincable giant is then turned over to the authorities.

This 55-year-old copy of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #81 is in 6.0 FN condition - it 's been handled with care over its life span. The spine is strong, there are no tears, rough edges or pieces missing . .  and nothing mars the great Adams art inside.
