"gotham bay, be my grave!", script by bob haney, art by jim aparo; at the construction site of a new bridge across gotham harbor, a horribly burned man rises from the site and begins attacking sailors across gotham harbor, in spite of batman's best efforts to stop the creature; the series of bizarre murders also attracts the attention of jason blood (aka etrigan the demon), who told of the situation by his colleagues; after they leave, he struggles with wanting to come to terms with glenda about his feelings. However, he's visited by merlin who asks the demon to go and see him at tintagel the next day; while in pursuit of the monster, the demon is captured by batman, and he, matthews, and randu are forced to reveal to batman the demon's double identity.
