MARVEL'S BLACK PANTHER was created by Stan Lee and writer-artist Jack Kirby, and first appeared in 1966's Fantastic Four #52. Black Panther's real name is T'CHALLA, and he is the king and protector of the secret African nation of Wakanda. Along with possessing enhanced abilities achieved through ancient Wakandan rituals, T'Challa also relies on his proficiency in science, rigorous physical training, hand-to-hand combat skills, and access to wealth and advanced Wakandan technology to combat his enemies.

Here in BLACK PANTHER #4, co-creator Jack Kirby, returning from his stint at DC comics in the early 70s, both writes and illustrates (with an inking assist by Mike Royer) "Friends or Foes", in which BLACK PANTHER and his companions accidentally destroy the BRASS FROGS and escape King Solomon's Tomb as it collapses. They go to Princess Zanda's kingdom of Narobia, and the PANTHER is introduced to more COLLECTORS. They want him to help them find the Lost City of Samurai.
