BATMAN/PUNISHER: LAKE OF FIRE was the first DC/Marvel crossover project in 12 years, following the X-Men/Teen Titans crossover of 1982. Denny O'Neil tells the story, and Barry Kitson and James Pascoe provide the exciting visuals.  It was the first of two BATMAN/PUNISHER trade paperbacks published in 1994.

In 'LAKE OF FIRE' both BATMAN (who is AZRAEL at this time) and Gotham City-visitor THE PUNISHER, are both trying to track down JIGSAW - criminal William Russo, who had been badly disfigured by PUNISHER and was now out for revenge. The battle ensues all through the city and across dark roof tops, with near-fatal consequences for both BATMAN and PUNISHER.
