This issue's story - from Hilary Bader and Rick Burchette - is faithfully adapted from the very first episode of the "Batman Beyond" TV show, which debuted only aa few weeks before this issue hit the newsstands! The cover is by Bruce Timm, Producer, Writer and Character Designer of TV's 'BATMAN BEYOND'.

The year is 2040; twenty years after Bruce Wayne retired as Batman, and something shady is going on at his old company, now called Wayne-Powers, and run by Derek Powers. While Warren McGinnis accepts a disc from his co-worker Harry Tully, Warren's son Terry runs into the Jokerz, hoods who style themselves after the real Joker, and who pursue Terry up to the gates of Wayne Manor, where Terry gets a hand from Bruce himself. Carried inside the mansion, Terry stumbles across the Batcave. Returning home to find his father dead in an apparent robbery, Terry returns to Wayne Manor for the Batman's help.
