Item Description
Special edition copy of Batman #500, with a die-cut cover. The die-cut cover is actually a double cover. Batman (Bruce Wayne) appears on the outer front cover, and when lifting the die-cut portion, Batman (Jean-Paul Valley) appears in the same scene, replacing Bruce. The left side of the inner cover (the back side of the front outer die-cut cover) shows Robin being threatened by Bane in a continuation of the Jean-Paul Valley art. The back inside cover also shows the same scene of Robin being threatened by Bane in a continuation of the Bruce Wayne art from the front outer cover. There are two postcard inserts as well…one of Classic Batman, the other of the New Batman. Store date was October 1993. It is stored in a cool, dry, smoke/pet-free environment.Photos shown are of the actual item, except for the first two…which show the different front covers!!! This comic shows hardly any wear along the spine and no tears at the staples. There is mild drop damage to the upper spine corner, while the other corners show light blunting. The upper right corner shows a very light bend all the way through the book. The front die-cut cover shows some scratches in the ink, as well as some indentations by something heavy. It may have also been used to write on top of. There are indentations on the upper portion of the second-page cover as well, which translate through to the postcard insert inside. The comic shows hardly any of these indentations to the pages. The back covers are in great condition, as well as the second postcard insert. One picture shows the color of the pages against a white background.
I believe this comic to be in VERY FINE condition, or better. Please see store information for my grading method and criteria for grading.
