We have watched this book steadily rise -as have all Spiderman keys-over the last few years,as more collectors enter the marketplace.We have graded in our lifetime many copies of this issue.Important facts are 1) The original black background color on this issue was applied to the comic in the printing process in such a way as to NOT be the same in different comics.This means that one issue of #194 may have a deep black uniform appearance while another may be splotchy or inconsistent in color uniformity. 2)The muted colors applied to the Black Cat and the background on the cover make it hard to reproduce by scan the EXACT colors.However,we feel that we have succeeded in reproducing by scan as close to the actual cover appearance as possible.We use a state of the art flat bed scanner and advanced software,such that what you see here is what the book actually looks like.3) This copy offered for sale is a HIGH GRADE issue,unrestored in any way,verified by black light and close magnification examination. 4) There is much original gloss,the spine is intact with no tears or splits,and is TIGHT.Staples are intact,no splitting or tearing around entry points.6) The pages are OFF WHITE and supple..7) An interesting feature in this issue is that 2 other cover versions of the first Black Cat cover were included in the letters page.Both were rejected by Stan Lee ,but are reproduced in full.Great stuff. 8) Bar code does NOT have a black line through it-actual newsstand copy 9) In short this FIRST appearance of the Black cat is a high grade copy offered at a great price This is now a 42 year old issue.10) First Spiderman kiss with mask rolled half way up by Black Cat-reproduced in Spiderman Movie.11) This issue is considered a MAJOR KEY.
