Storytellers supreme Denny O'Neil and visual wizard Frank Miller threw all of their talents into this 52-page, 1980 edition of Amazing Spider-Man Annual! The twists and turns of the story, and the visual inventiveness of the artwork really make this special!

"The Book of the Vishanti" starts in Latveria, with DR. DOOM making a pact with the DREADED DORMAMMU to enter into a rite of the supernatural called The Bend Sinister in an attempt to take down DR. STRANGE. Armed with this knowledge, DOOM sends his underling Lucius Dilby to New York, where Dilby creates a creature that is a construct of both magic and technology!

The 'Supernatural Robot" attacks STRANGE, and the Mystic is almost a goner before he manages to summon SPIDER-MAN to his side, but not before being attacked by Gargoyles and Wraiths. But they manage to outsmart the Robot and imprison Dilby in a gem, foiling DOOM's plot!

This is a really nice, good-looking and solid copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #14, with a strong binding, a glossy cover, supple pages and bright color. The pages have very little toning for a 43-year-old comic, and no foxing. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 8.0 VF at $16 . . . but we think $12 is a bit more reasonable! (And our mere $2 shipping fee is another good reason to take this SPIDEY home!)
