Legendary comic book artist Gil Kane had long made a name for himself on multiple titles at DC Comics from the mid-50s through the end of the 1960s . . and then changed stomping grounds and became a mainstay at Marvel Comics through the end of his career. Here's his take on the web-slinger in the 52-page 10th ANNUAL of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!

Bill Mantlo (creator of the MICRONAUTS) pens "Step Into My Parlor . . " in which SPIDER-MAN confronts the kidnapper-turned-mutant-villain, THE FLY! The transformation was caused by a convoluted attempt by Peter Parker's boss at The Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson, to fund a scientist to create a new superhero from his genetic experimenting.

A kidnapper on the run from SPIDER-MAN and the police forces the scientist to experiment on him, then kills the scientist when he grows wings and the ability to fly! SPIDER-MAN fights THE FLY and and manages to defeat him . . . and also get some much-needed photos to help Jameson and The Bugle!

This is a really nice, good-looking and solid copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #10, with a strong binding, a glossy cover, supple pages and bright color. The pages have very little toning for a 46-year-old comic, and no foxing. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 8.0 VF at $18 . . . but we think $12 is a bit more reasonable! (And our mere $2 shipping fee is another good reason to take this SPIDEY home!)
