In "When Falls The Meteor!", scientist Not on Fester sees a meteor fall to Earth, retrieves it, and while examining it in a lab, is exposed to hidden gases in the big rock and finds he has extraordinary powers of strength . . . and takes on the persona of . . THE LOOTER.

Meanwhile Peter parker is dealing with college life and his inability to make friends, who all think he's an 'egghead', including Gwen Stacy! But Peter crosses paths with THE LOOTER as he is robbing a bank, and manages to save the customers. A further encounter with THE LOOTER puts an end to his life of crime, but it doesn't earn Peter any points with Gwen, despite his heroics as SPIDER-MAN!

This is a solid copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #36, that's just a few notches below being a FINE copy, with a cover date stamp, and a 1" cover split below the bottom staple. Those are the main detractors . . but they still allow you to enjoy Ditko near his early peak at an affordable price! The pages have normal toning, but no foxing. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 4.5 VG+ at $50 . . . but we think $35 is much more reasonable, and gives you this issue at the best price on HipComic! (And our mere $2 shipping fee is another good reason to take this Spidey home!)
