STEVE DITKO, the creator and main artist for Spider-Man comics since 1962, handles pencils, inks and plotting here for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #30, as the Wall-Crawler goes after The Cat Burglar!

In "The Claws of the Cat!", J. Jonah Jameson is the victim of a robbery in his apartment and puts up a reward of $1,000 for the criminal's capture. While swinging around, Spider-Man learns of the reward and goes to Jameson to antagonize and tease him. Later, Peter is about to tell Liz Allen that he is Spider-Man, when Liz pipes up that she doesn't want to be around any danger or excitement . . and Peter is crushed.

Then police corner The Cat Burglar and Spider-Man makes the chase. The Cat gets Spider-Man off balance and tries to bring a water tower crashing down on him (as seen on the cover). The police corner The Cat hiding in a chimney and arrest him. Peter is still crushed by Liz' reaction and dolefully sells photos to Jameson.

This is admittedly a low-grade copy of SPIDER-MAN #30, with a cover datestamp, ball-point pen writing on the first page, and an interior page that has come loose from the binding (but is still present). Those are the main detractors . . but they allow you to enjoy Ditko near his early peak at an affordable price! The pages have normal toning, but no foxing. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 3.0 GD/VG at $42 . . . but we think $15 is much more reasonable, and gives you this issue at the best price on HipComic! (And our mere $2 shipping fee is another good reason to take this Spidey home!)
