STEVE DITKO, the creator and main artist for SPIDER-MAN comics since its inception, handles pencils, inks and plotting here for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #11, as the Wall-Crawler goes after DOCTOR OCTOPUS!

In "Turning Point!", Betty Brant's brother, Bennett, has gotten himself into trouble with gambling debts and Betty is forced to help in Doc Ock's plot to break Blackie Gaxton out of prison to keep her sibling alive. Spider-Man interrupts the escape and Blackie shoots Bennett during the conflict. Gaxton is captured but Doc Ock gets away. Peter tries to comfort Betty over the loss of her brother.

It has been noted in comic indexing forums that Jack Kirby was asked to redraw Spider-Man's legs and Doc Ock's face on the front cover!

This is an above-average reading copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #11, but it admittedly has seen better days, with ball-point pen writing on the first page, nicks, splits, and a number of ragged-edged pages. One page is separated but present. Those are the main detractors . . but they still allow you to enjoy Ditko near his early peak at an affordable price! The pages have normal toning, but no foxing, and there is a minor spine roll. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 3.0 GD/VG at $170 . . . but we think $100 is much more realistic, and gives you this issue at only 6% of the price of the only other #11here on HipComic . . . with FREE SHIPPING!
