Marvel Studios will soon premiere a 'MORBIUS' feature film, and here's the very issue from late 1971 that details the origin of the Living Vampire! And you get Spidey's nemesis The Lizard, to boot!

In this special 52-page 25¢ issue, writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane present "Vampire At Large!", which picks up immediately from the stand-off that ended the previous issue with a 6-armed Peter Parker caught between the twin threats of Morbius and The Lizard! During the three-way battle, Morbius manages to bite The Liizard, and as the vampire escapes, Peter and the Lizard see that the effect of the bite was to turn The Lizard back into his human form of Dr. Curt Connors! They agree that something in Morbius' blood may be the key to ending connor's transformations, and eradicate Peter's 6 arms!

Thomas and Kane then treat us to an extended flashback that provides us with Morbius' origin - he is the result of a failed experiment to cure his degenerative blood disease, and it turns him into a living vampire!

Spider-man and The Lizard tail Morbius as he wreaks havoc on New York's citizens, but manage to get a vial of his blood during a scuffle! Will it 'cure' Parker and Connors???

This is a beautifully solid and tight copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #102, with a strong binding, supple pages and bright color. There is minimal toning in the pages of this 50-year-old comic. There is very minor edge wear at the bottom of the front cover and a very minor subscription fold. We conservatively grade this an 8.0 VF, which Overstreet values it at $85! That gives you this issue at far below the price of other #102s on HipComic that are in poorer condition!
