Captain Atom was created by writer Joe Gill and artist/co-writer Steve Ditko, and first appeared in _Space Adventures_ #33 under the Charlton imprint in 1960. His atomic absorption powers and superhuman strength inspired the WATCHMEN character, Doctor Manhattan!

Issue #77 here of STRANGE SUSPENSE STORIES, was the last issue under that title, becoming simply CAPTAIN ATOM with issue #78. In this issue there are actually four short CAPTAIN ATOM stories, all drawn by Steve Ditko.

Issue #78, now titled CAPTAIN ATOM, features a book-length story as Captain Atom battles the emotion villain, Doctor Spectro, who becomes one of his arch enemies.

72 pages of great DITKO art (including the covers) for one low price! These are pretty nice copies, with #77 being in better shape than #79. There are a few nicks and stress lines, but the spines are solid and the art looks good.
