ALBEDO was a comic book anthology series which was credited with starting the 'Furry' comic book subgenre that featured sophisticated stories with funny or semi-realistic animals primarily intended for an adult audience.

The first issue of ALBEDO was published in 1983 by STEVE GALLACCI, who produced its main feature, ERMA FELNA: EDF - a sophisticated science fiction military series set in a sector of space populated by sapient and predominantly humanoid versions of mammal and avian species. The focus of the series is ERMA FELNA, a young feline officer who eventually plays a central role in the complex political conflicts that consume her universe.

Here is COLOR SPECIAL #1, published 9 years later, which retells and expands on the ERMA FELNA story in ALBEDO #1 . . with COLOR added. There is a 2-page text dissertation by Steve Gallaci on the genesis of ALBEDO. In a printing error throughout the print run, Page 17 is duplicated, but there is no Page 16!

This is a terrifically nice copy of ALBEDO COLOR SPECIAL #1, pristine in nearly every way except for a couple of very minor cover edge dings. The front cover title lettering is silver foil embossed, and is in perfect condition (despite not showing up well in scans). Strong binding, white pages - no faults or blemishes anywhere inside! You won't find it for less than $36 elsewhere here on HipComic, but we're pricing it at only $12 . . . and our L•O•W shipping can't be beat!
