From 1938 to 1946, ADVENTURE COMICS starred a number of Golden Age superheroes, including the SANDMAN, HOURMAN, STARMAN, AND MANHUNTER, with a variety of backup features including SHINING KNIGHT, GENIUS JONES, and STEVE CONRAD: ADVENTURER. In 1946, all these previous features were cancelled, and SUPERBOY, AQUAMAN, and GREEN ARROW were transferred to ADVENTURE COMICS from MORE FUN COMICS and they remained the series' main features well into the 1960s.

Here in issue #150, you get precisely those last three named superheroes in solo stories, as well as stories starring JOHNNY QUICK, THE SHINING KNIGHT in a story illustrated by Frank Frazetta (!), and even a 1-page public service announcement starring WONDER WOMAN!

But SUPERBOY is the anchor of ADVENTURE COMICS here, as he had been for the previous 5 years. The 10 page story "Superboy's Initiation", with art by John Sikela, tells how a fraternity at Smallville High invites Clark to join as a joke, but SUPERBOY turns the table and pledges the frat to teach the members a lesson in "initiationship" and non-snobbery.

This is a great-looking copy of one of DC's biggest sellers of the early 1950s. It's in wonderful shape for being 73 years old, with a strong binding, minimal toning, and no readily-visible faults or blemishes other than a bit of discoloration to the front cover and a couple of 2mm splits at the edge. We grade it a solid 6.0 FN which Overstreet values it at $228 . . . but we're pricing it at only $200 . . with FREE shipping!
