The story of when SUPERGIRL got married - in a true story - is a real highlight of this issue . . . but that's just the back-up story in this 1967 issue of ACTION COMICS with a cover by Curt Swan!

The cover story, "The Kryptonite Rumble", by Leo Dorfman and Wayne Boring, is a real hip and 'with it' story of the late 60s! In it, the Annihilator's and his son, Pocketbook Pete, take over Washington DC and President LBJ. Pete swallows Kryptonian explosives, gains super-explosive power and appoints himself President, you squares! SUPERMAN to the rescue! Can you dig it?

The real entertainment comes with "Supergirl's Secret Marriage", written by Otto Binder and drawn by Jim Mooney. In the story, a jealous alien female, disguised as a male, fakes a marriage with Supergirl (who has temporary amnesia from green kryptonite) so that her boyfriend in order to end the boyfriend's obsession with Supergirl! Supergirl gets wise to the plan when the alien 'pseudo-male' puts her arms around Supergirl's neck, rather than her waist or shoulders, when kissing. It was pretty game of Supergirl to play along until she could figure it out. . . A weird story, but fun and entertaining!
