Here's a nice, tight, beautifully-cared-for, 72-year-old Disney comic with 52 pages of story - including the 24-page lead story by the 'Good Duck Artist', Carl Barks! DONALD DUCK made his first appearance in DELL FOUR COLOR COMICS in 1943 in the story "Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold", and here he is, 8 years later, not searching this time for treasure with his nephews, but trying to solve the mystery of why one of Uncle Scrooge's shops sank!!

In the 28-page lead story, "No Such Varmint", DONALD takes an aptitude test says that he should be a great detective, and so he is hired to investigate the mysterious sinking of one of UNCLE SCROOGE's gold ships. DONALD's true aptitude, however, is that of a snake charmer, and his playing so charms a huge sea serpent that he has to keep playing for days!

There's also a clever 20-page back-up story, "Stalwart Stowaways!", by long-time Disney and Hanna-Barbaera artist Frank McSavage, that again stars DONALD and his three nephews!

This is a beautiful copy of this popular issue - the binding is strong, the pages are bright and colorful and free from the toning of most comics this age. The cover is unmarred, and with much of its gloss remaining!
