This is a beautiful piece of 1940's/1950's GOLDEN AGE art work from GENE HUGHES! This is an original CONCEPT introduction page to Hughes' MIKE REGAN character. Hughes tried different concepts with this character such as a private eye, but before settling on that, he tried his hand at making the character into a Flash Gordon/Warlord of Mars science fiction type hero. The concept didn't work but Hughes was able to capture with this page, the concept he had. How would this have played out if he went this route? The good girl bondage image is worth the price of such an esoteric "what if" piece! Early Hughes original pages are very difficult to find and rarely ever come up for sale!
