Volume Description

The editors of Indrajal Comics earlier published a self-titled series in India to issue #443. In 1983 the publishers decided to use a volume and number typical of periodical publications starting with the 2nd January 1983 issue. Hence, #444 was identified as Vol.20 No.1 on the cover as the new starting series number and #805 (Vol.27 No.8 published on 16 April 1990) was the last. The front cover design was also changed (starting with issue #789 Vol.26 No.33), with the introduction of the distinctive Indrajal Comics banner. Some issues were reprints of older stories from the previous Indrajal Comics Volume, with new cover art.

Like the previous series, The Phantom dominated the number of stories, but characters like Mandrake, Flash Gordon, Bahadur, Kerry Drake, Rip Kirby, Phil Corrigan, Garth, Mike Nomad, Buz Sawyer, Bruce Lee, Aditya and Dara also had stories presented.
