Issue Description
In this issue, Concrete convinces Larry to watch his favorite late-night show, Sky of Heads, a popular cable program that contemplates the meaning and existence of the afterlife. Written and illustrated by Paul Chadwick.
Doom Patrol artist Gary Martin concludes his first work as writer/artist with Captain Crusader! In this final episode, Captain Crusader discovers what the harsh reality of being a "super hero" really is!
ChaptersConcrete: "Sky of Heads". Concrete drags Larry over to the television to watch a late night show, 'A Sky of Heads' in which discorporated heads float through the ether and entertain each other for brief periods of time with stories.
Captain Crusader: Captain Crusader has spent months on the sidelines. First recovering from injuries inflicted in a heavy beating at the hands of a group of thugs in a local bar, then regaining his fitness in order to continue his career as a super hero. Back out on patrol, Captain Crusader has a hard time finding criminal activity in the city park. During the monotony, Captain Crusader "rests his eyes" for a short while only for criminal activity to stumble across him.
Paleolove: "When the Old World Was New". Fervn, a young tribesman of Spruce Camp, has a crush on Twilla. But after an incident on the riverbank, Fervn finds himself too embarrassed to speak to Twilla or any of the other young women of Spruce Camp. On the season's Bison hunt, Fervn and Twilla are paired together. An accident separates them from the rest of the hunting party. Their misfortune however, gives Fervn the chance he's always wanted to get to know Twilla.
